Extensive processing to come to terms with the very harsh lighting, but also to emphasise the drama of this fleeting moment. 

Bronzes such as this were made by the so-called "lost wax" process, involving the use of wax models and plaster casts. In the course of the process two wax models - one solid, the other hollow - would be melted down, hence "lost wax".
