BAL-29 at Riley, BC. - a photo on Flickriver

            This catch was rather unexpected as a friend and I were busy catching ACus east of Fort Steele when we suddenly heard CMQ 9017 dial-up for a clearance off the Windermere Sub. 

We settled for this angle east of Cranbrook on the infamous Riley Hill as CMQ 9017 and a trio of SD40s rumble the empty rock/ballast train uphill for the pit at Swansea. Hearing the 645s ripping in notch 8 was quite impressive and was rather hair-raising.
