Blood soaked but not forgotten... - a photo on Flickriver

            I watched the Remembrance day service in between emptying and cleaning our caravan near Skegness this morning and on reaching home have tried to catch up on Flickr in between loading our washer then the drier... Forgot to upload a shot I actually left ready to upload when we got back... I am always moved by the tragic but amazing acts of heroism and feel great sorrow but also respect for those who lost their lives or who were maimed in the World Wars and pray for peace for countries sadly at war right now....I only wish I felt hope for these countries but have my doubts sadly !
Our caravan is on the same site I went every year of my life with my mam and brother and sisters. Dad came twice but only for a day….said he had done enough travelling during the war…he was in Burma and in the forgotten army. He had large bumps in his forehead from shrapnel wounds but he wasn’t brave…he was young with young children ( my eldest late sister and my late brother ) he was imprisoned once for going AWOL….I never blamed him. He refused to talk about the war at but he did have several medals. He died aged just 49 and he was and always will remain my hero…my lovely dad…when I was aged just fifteen.
