Greens Windmill Sneinton..Nottingham

            I lived on Windmill Lane so accessed the museum and park with my children many times. I was happy to get one of the last shots of the Windmill before it went into disrepair and happily just read of the upcoming restoration that is expected to take 52weeks have no idea why it didn’t just say a year tbh… obviously I played around with this shot but every thing I did was because I wished it to appear like this. It has been part of my life for years and very interesting and intriguing too.. we could even buy flour when the mill was working and I also climbed the amazingly steep winding staircase to the very top of the mill to look out over the city of Nottingham…now did you ever notice climbing up stairs is fine as you see a few steps in front of you but stepping back down is a whole different matter and I froze and thought I would be stuck forever….
In the early 1800’s Green’s Mill was owned and operated by mathematical physicist George Green. His mathematics – called Green’s Theorem and Green’s functions – are used today by scientists and engineers across the world working with computers, lasers, and satellite communications.
