The Oldest Inn in England - a photo on Flickriver

            Dating to 1189, the Olde Trip to Jerusalem, jutting out of caves in Nottingham's Castle Rock is so-named as Crusading Knights are supposed to have called there on their way to the Holy Land. It claims to be the oldest inn in England, although it may have been used as a brew house in the 12th Century. It is one of four medieval pubs surviving in the city along with The Bell, The Salutation, and The Royal Children. The photo was taken from the Castle Walls, Nottingham, UK.
