'Tree with a View' near Betws yn Rhos, North Wales - 24.9.2020

            Thought I'd share this interesting view when out walking yesterday on the surrounding hillside above our village. 

In the foreground are the more fertile fields and grazing areas of Peniarth Fawr - sheltered enough to grow arable crops - despite the harsh Welsh weather. Beef and Dairy Cattle thrive on the valley's lower farms with a mixture of cattle and upland sheep on the hillside farms. 

In the distance is the village of Llysfaen - beyond which is the North Wales Coast. It's surrounding area's bedrock is mainly Limestone. There are many nearby man made cliffs blasted out of the hillsides resulting from several disused quarries that extracted stone to build the local plethora of cottages, houses and stone walls. One quarry is still active - having a seaward jetty as well to load aggregate and quarry waste into smaller bulk carrying ships.
