Southbound at Strathnaver - a photo on Flickriver

            Southbound CN train L570-51-21 crawls down the former BC Rail Prince George Subdivision mainline, through the remote hamlet of Strathnaver, BC.  The daily local freight, from the regional transportation hub of Prince George is en route to Quesnel, a modest sized town where life revolves around its sawmill, and two pulp mills.  The Quesnel switch jobs will separate the blocks of cars for the local mills, and then set aside the remainder for the following days turn from Williams Lake.

Empty boxcars for the pulp mills, centerbeam flats for the sawmills in Quesnel, Williams Lake, and 100 Mile House, and covered hoppers for loading with wood pellets for export make up most of the train.  The handful of loads going south are some hoppers of chemical for the pulp mills, LPG tanks for the propane/fuel dealers in Quesnel, and Williams Lake, and six loads of logs, likely destined to become pulp.
