Florida East Coast Railway / Seven Mile Bridge

            Die Florida East Coast Railway (FEC) ist eine seit 1895 bestehende US-amerikanische Class 2 Eisenbahngesellschaft in Florida. Die Florida East Coast Railway trug wesentlich zur touristischen und wirtschaftlichen Entwicklung des Bundesstaates bei.Das Streckennetz reicht von Jacksonville mit Verbindung zur CSX und zur Norfolk Southern, über St. Augustine, Daytona Beach, West Palm Beach bis nach Miami. Die Hauptstrecke hat eine Länge von 565 km, dazu kommen noch rund 400 km an Nebengleisen. Von 1912 bis 1935 reichte die Strecke von Miami weiter bis Key West.
Die Seven Mile Bridge ist die längste Brücke des Overseas Highways, der die Inseln der Florida Keys miteinander verbindet. Sie ist 10.931 Meter (6,79 Meilen) lang und liegt zwischen den Inseln Vaca Key im Stadtgebiet von Marathon und Bahia Honda.

The Florida East Coast Railway (FEC) is an American Class 2 railroad company in Florida that has existed since 1895. The Florida East Coast Railway contributed significantly to the tourist and economic development of the state. The route network extends from Jacksonville with connections to the CSX and Norfolk Southern, via St. Augustine, Daytona Beach, West Palm Beach to Miami. The main line is 565 km long, plus around 400 km of side tracks. From 1912 to 1935, the route extended from Miami to Key West.
The Seven Mile Bridge is the longest bridge on the Overseas Highway, which connects the islands of the Florida Keys. It is 10,931 meters (6.79 miles) long and is located between the islands of Vaca Key in the city of Marathon and Bahia Honda.
