The Green Lamp - a photo on Flickriver

The Green Lamp

            This is the pier outside the Wrest Point Casino. Water taxis use it to ferry passengers to and from other city hotels. The distinctive green lamp is a nice feature. On the Battery Point Hill we see once again the bell tower of St George's Church lit up as well.

It took several shots to get this exposure right. The wind was really blowing strongly by now (we are in the "Roaring Forties" after all) and was causing my tripod to vibrate. Eventually I got a shot that was acceptable.
