Connection with a Wolf - a photo on Flickriver

            The river is a lifeline of life - salmon running upstream to spawn, Grayling and trout thriving in the current, Brown bear feasting on salmon, berries and grass, and this solitary Alaskan Grey Wolf hunting for scraps. It moved quickly downstream into our view, paused at this "bear skid" (fishing spot), and spent several moments watching us. I'd time to get out and mount my telephoto, set up the tripod, and start shooting. The wolf was curious, unthreatened, and finally, after seeming to hear the shutter clicks, turned and disappeared into the bush.
