De Waag, a former anatomy theatre, Amsterdam

            Now a restaurant, this former city gate and weigh house is where Dr. Nicolaes Tulp gave his anatomy lessons, as painted by Rembrandt. In fact, the painting hung in this building before it eventually ended up in the Mauritshuis museum in The Hague.
