Le Antiche Terme Romane di Cavascura, sull'isola di Ischia, Explore Sep 8, 2021 #210

Dalla spiaggia dei Maronti, nei pressi di Sant'Angelo d'Ischia, sono salito per un sentiero lungo una gola tra pareti di roccia e dopo una decina di minuti sono arrivato alle Antiche Terme Romane di Cavascura. Lì ho avuto la sensazione di un magico salto di migliaia di anni indietro nel tempo: la struttura termale degli antichi romani è praticamente intatta e viene utilizzata dalle persone di oggi; l'acqua sgorga bollente lungo un rivolo; è uno dei luoghi più emozionanti che ho incontrato sull'isola.

From the Maronti beach, near Sant'Angelo d'Ischia, I went up a path along a gorge between rock walls and after about ten minutes I arrived at the Ancient Roman Baths of Cavascura. There I had the sensation of a magical leap thousands of years back in time: the thermal structure of the ancient Romans is practically intact and is used by people today; the water gushes out boiling along a rivulet; it is one of the most exciting places I have encountered on the island.
