Hi friends and to all the amazing new ones ❤

This picture is a bit different than most of the content I have posted this week, however with the highlights of both Virtual and Real world recently I felt best sharing this here. 

Last year I made the decision to leave another company to work for a startup in the tech industry. I remember being scared on possibly starting from square one all over again. However, remembering my immigrant parents who left their own country to pursue the American dream with nothing but just the clothes they were wearing and no understanding of the english language I had absolutely nothing to lose but my own opportunity.

From the start of the interview process, I showed confidence in myself, with my experience, and who I am as a professional. That what I could bring to the table is valuable, and that I can prove my worth.

If you asked previous coworkers three years ago who I was, trust me they would not recognize this woman at all. 

Those past years were very important, and have helped me be the person who I am today. Who would've known all the stress, tears and worst experiences would be the best thing to happen, mot at the time of course (lolol, the stories)

This week was my official first week of being a manager at this startup. If you aren't familiar with this world, just know that Startups are not an easy environment to be in, nor will ever have the staffing when growth / economy / market / inflation is unpredictable.

Our team has gone through phases of burnout, no direct leader to set any good example of balance and with so many new hires. You can imagine how lost and stressed many can feel.

The high magnitude of companies that we operate and grow is imaginable. We are very small and are in many different industries that do not even coexist. I call us the dream team, and we have been a crucial part for the company's growth, and our own clients revenue. 

Honestly, my team and upper level management know me as the go getter, the one that get's sh*t done when it can be absolutely impossible. I meet some pretty high metrics and complete some intense work sprints as one person vs the team with some weird jokes on the side! 

This is nothing to show off to be honest, nor will I ever expect anyone to do what I do. I'm just glad that when we have a situation at hand they have 100% confidence and trust in me.

I understand that from now on, it's not just my work that I have to take care of, I'm also helping my teams. This week I was able to meet with a couple extraordinary women who I will be leading. I still have yet to meet many others the following week however this really is a turning point to my own personal growth.

Unfortunately, they aren't handing this workplace to well at all. Not that they can't do it, it's just not an easy.  There are many factors, many trouble shooting solutions that you need to pinpoint in research which is hard. 

As their manager I will do everything I can do to make this job easier for them. I never want someone to feel the way I felt so many years ago. 

They are valuable, they matter. 

I am happy to provide them any tools and knowledge that they need to grow and learn. If I don't know, trust me I will learn it and find the answer. 

I never had that leader to guide me through those moments or go through the escalations escalations that honestly were very hard mentally. Many tears were cried, many mistakes were done, however I faced my mistakes and learned each time.

These women are amazing in every single way and I will strive for their individuality. They don't see their value now, but I hope that they know I will do my absolute best to do that and everything else in between. 

Honesty and communication is the most important thing to me and let me tell you when I figured out my value in both work and relationships. I'll never commit to anything less.

Thank you so much guys for reading! This week has been a long sleepless night for me. So much to learn in both school, editing, and work now I don't even know what sleep means lol.  However I definitely am tired of the quiet lonely nights that's for sure and am working hard to get out of that. 

I'm happy to be back in SL because I really come back for the friendships. I really do.
