Telemark Horse Breeding Association, Summer of 1963.
"It is "Telemark Hesteavslag" (Telemark Horse Breeding Association) that has a large haul of horses on the Sundet. This is the first time in Telemark that a stallion will be accompanied on a mountain pasture. Around 400 people were present at Sundet da Tåkatind with 36 mares and 4 foals that were released. Tåkatind is a great breeding horse that was bought in as a 4-year-old and was then paid a price of NOK. NOK 23,000 (Telemark Landbruksselskap and Telemark Horse Breeding Association in 1955). In winter, Tåkatind is used in the timber forest. The horses have 50,000 acres of mountain expanse to frolic in with Gjermund and Kari Graver in charge. James Coward at Sundet and the neighboring property, Gaustad at Vetrhusli, have made pasture available free of charge for a first trial year (Rjukan dagblad, 29 June 1963)."
