            Call me an old curmudgeon if you will, but I find this anthropomorphism of pets disturbing. In the midst of the "cost of living crisis" people can still lavish this sort of attention on dogs?

And in the store a range of Halloween costumes for dogs - is a dog asked "do you want to be a spider, or a skeleton in a tuxedo?" Unbelievable.

I consider it almost obscene that people will shell lout the money for this when elsewhere in the world there is poverty and hunger. I wonder what people in areas affected by war, drought and famine would think of this?
