Stieglitz ♀ auf der Sonnenblume / Goldfinch ♀ on a sunflower /in explore 20251011

            Auf dem Rasen unter der Futtersäule sind im Juni drei Sonnenblumen angewachsen. Ich habe sie früh entdeckt und dann darauf geachtet, dass ich sie beim Rasenmähen nicht abschneide. Der Hintergedanke war natürlich dass sich daraus irgendwann einmal ein Foto ergeben könnte. Gestern war es soweit. Aber wie das so mit Bildern ist, die man sich im Kopf vorstellt, hat es länger gedauert als bei Aufnahmen, die zufällig entstehen. Als die ersten Sonnenblumenkerne "verschwanden" habe ich mich wenn ich etwas Zeit hatte auf die Lauer gelegt. Insgesamt habe ich an vier Tagen etwa 6 Stunden darauf gewartet, dass ein Vogel auf einer Sonnenblume landet. Am Ende hatte ich Glück, es wurde einer meiner bunten Stieglitze. Es ist ein Weibchen in der Mauser. Sie sieht deshalb nicht so hübsch aus wie im Frühling aber es ist ja ein Herbstbild und ich bin sehr glücklich mit dem Ergebnis.

Three sunflowers grew on the lawn beneath the bird feeder in June. I spotted them early on and then took care not to cut them when mowing the lawn. The idea behind this was, of course, that it might make for a good photo at some point. Yesterday was the day. But as is often the case with images you have in your mind first, it took longer than with photos that happen by chance. When the first sunflower seeds ‘disappeared,’ I started a closer observation. In total, I waited about six hours over four days for a bird to land on a sunflower. In the end, I was lucky – it was this colourful goldfinch lady. She is moulting and doesn't look as pretty as she did in spring, but it is an autumn picture and I am very happy with the result.
