Vidy's Small Train Track (Lausanne VD/Switzerland)

            The Vidy site was developed through successive embankments on the shores of Lake Geneva to host the 1964 Swiss National Exhibition. Thanks to its numerous amenities and pleasant green setting, the Vidy site is currently highly valued by the public and visitors of the city of Lausanne for the multiple opportunities for relaxation and sporting and cultural activities it offers.

The photo shows the station of the National Exhibition's Little Train, which was put into service in 1964. A loop of approximately one kilometer remains. Operation is ensured by three battery-powered trains. The locomotives are copies of the Ae6/6 or the Re4/4 IV of the SBB-CFF-FFS. Each train has six cars, five for passengers (more suited to children) and one for the driver. 

Le site de Vidy a été aménagé par des remblaiements successifs sur les rives du Lac Léman pour accueillir l'Exposition Nationale Suisse de 1964. Il est actuellement très apprécié de la population et des visiteurs de la ville de Lausanne pour les nombreuses possibilités de détente et d'activités sportives et culturelles qu'il offre par ses nombreux aménagement et un cadre agréable verdoyant.

La photo montre la gare du Petit Train de l'exposition nationale mis en service en 1964 et dont il subsiste une boucle d'environ un kilomètre. L'exploitation est assurée à l'aide de trois trains à accumulateurs. Les locomotives sont des copies des Ae6/6 ou de la Re4/4 IV des SBB-CFF-FFS. Chaque rame comprend six voitures dont cinq pour les passagers (plutôt adaptées aux enfants) et une raccourcie pour le conducteur.
