A natural park for wolves - a photo on Flickriver

            PARK UND FORSCHUNGSZENTRUM MIT LANDSCHAFTLICH GESTALTETEN GEHEGEN FÜR WOLFSARTEN AUS ALLER WELT.
 
Merzig, eine Stadt im Saarland, liegt an der Saar und erstreckt sich in weit umliegende Höhen- und Seitentäler.
Im Merziger Forst im Wolfspark "Werner Freund" leben auf etwa 8 ha Waldfläche Wolfsrudel verschiedener Kontinente: europäische Grauwölfe aus Spanien und Litauen, weiße Polarwölfe, sibirische und zierliche indische Wölfe.
Dieser Wolfspark ist in seiner Form einzigartig und die Wölfe leben so natürlich wie möglich.
Werner Freund hat über 30 Jahre in weltweit beispielloser Weise mit den Wölfen gelebt und den Wolfspark weltweit bekannt gemacht. 
Er teilte ihren Alltag und hat jeden der Wölfe mit eigener Hand großgezogen. 
Alle Tiere kamen als Welpen nach Merzig und wurden auf wölfische Art aufgezogen.
Nach fast 20 Jahren an der Seite von Werner Freund führt nun Tatjana Schneider nach dessen Tod sein Lebenswerk in diesem Sinne weiter.
Der Wolfspark Werner Freund hat ein Alleinstellungsmerkmal mit bundesweiter Ausstrahlung.
Von Zeit zu Zeit hört man das Heulen der Wölfe.
Zunächst beginnt ein einzelner Wolf. Dann hebt der zweite Wolf seinen Kopf und stimmt mit ein. Es antwortet ein dritter, das ganzes Rudel. 
Das gemeinsame Heulen drückt aus, dass sie zusammen gehören.
