Tessitore mascherato africano (Ploceus velatus) - Femmina. 
È un piccolo passeriforme, lungo circa 13 cm, con un corto e robusto becco conico.[
La specie è caratterizzata da un marcato dimorfismo sessuale.
La femmina ha il becco rosaceo e un piumaggio giallo-verdastro, con strie nere sul dorso.
Il maschio, al di fuori del periodo del corteggiamento, si differenzia dalla femmina unicamente per la colorazione degli occhi, che sono rossi; quando assume la livrea nuziale ha la faccia e il collo neri, mentre il capo e il ventre sono di colore giallo acceso.

Southern Masked Weaver (Ploceus velatus) - Female.
It is a small passerine, about 13 cm long, with a short and robust conical bill.[
The species is characterized by a marked sexual dimorphism.
The female has a pinkish bill and yellow-greenish plumage, with black streaks on the back.
The male, outside the courtship period, differs from the female only in the color of the eyes, which are red; when it assumes the nuptial plumage it has a black face and neck, while the head and belly are bright yellow.
