Spring is coming

            Snowdrops among the leaf mould at the Holy Ghost ruins Basingstoke. The old folk tales about snowdrops have always fascinated me. It was said they were the" familiars" of witches and a snow drop in the house brought bad luck. Of course we shouldn’t pick them but what a wonderful show they make. I’m sure in the past the amazing early flowering was so amazing it felt like witchcraft and they are so often found in graveyards and woodlands- haunts of the supernatural so they thought.
