Rainbows and heather - a photo on Flickriver

            Dom really wanted to see a moose in the wild whilst here in Scandinavia, half joking that if he didn't see one he'd take a star away from his TripAdvisor review of me :D This was one of the main reasons I woke him up at stupid O'clock. Not to see a sunrise - though that was a plus - but that the king of the forest is usually more active in the twilight hours of the day. Sadly we didn't see anything resembling a moose. To make matters worse, part of the climb up to this vantage point required us sliding down a couple of meters of wet rock. I was confident that my Swedish-made hiking trousers (with extra water repellent sprayed on) would keep me nice and dry. I couldn't be further from the truth. As soon as I started to glide I could feel a wet patch growing bigger and bigger as I slid down. Dom came to the same wet conclusion as me as we picked our selves up and continued our hike. I could see his TripAdvisor review before my eyes: "Soggy bottom on the first day tsk tsk". I couldn't bare it... The review that is, not the bottom.

We were quite pleased to see some heather blooming so late in the season and I know Dom also incorporated a rather nice patch into his compositions. Once the squall had passed *points directly to the right in my photostream for rain photo* we were treated to some glorious rainbows and soon forgot about how wet our posteriors were.
