Leipzig, Germany: mural marking 1989 demonstrations that led to the fall of the Wall and the Communist regime

            This enormous mural commemorates the tumultuous events of 1989 when Lepizig was one of the main centres for opposition to the East German regime.  

Die Mauer muss weg - The Wall must go, 

Within months the wall was indeed gone.  Families, Germany and Europe were united once more.
