L'imponente monolite di calcare del Pizzomunno. Questo faraglione di roccia che si staglia isolato sulla spiaggia a sud di Vieste è un deposito di calcare bianco lasciato dai depositi geologici millenni fa.

            The most iconic sightseeing in Vieste, 
Pizzomunno. This is a lonely giant rock made up of limestone which stands straightly on the main shore of the town. The legend says that this imposing rocky formation is actually a tall, strong, young boy named Pizzomunno. Pizzomunno was in love of a young beautiful girl named Tristalda. Also some mermaids living nearby fell in love of him. They offered to him the immortality but he refused, so the mermaids kidnapped Tristalda carried her on the bottom of the sea.  Pizzomunno didn't manage to rescue his love, he was saddened  and turned to stone.
