Milkfish, Ahihi Beach, Maui - a photo on Flickriver

            A school of milkfish were intent on the freshwater seeping up off the bottom of the cobble/gravel beach at Ahihi Bay. This was the only place I saw these fish in all my snorkel trips.  Similar to mullet, milkfish tend to be associated with estuary habitats or the interface between fresh and salt water.
