Mexico 1899

This photograph was made by Guillermo Kahlo in 1899.
His original name was Wilhelm Kahlo (1871-1941) and he came from Germany to Mexico in 1891. Changed his name to Guillermo Kahlo and set up a photographic studio at the turn of the century. Today he is considered a significant mexican photographer. He was also the father of the famous artist Frida Kahlo, 1907-1954.
There is a blindstamp "Guill.o Kahlo, Mexico" on the front of the cardboard and "Mexico, Mai 1899" is written on the backside.
