Flowers for a friend - a photo on Flickriver

            In April a diver passed away after diving on the wreck of the Conestoga in Cardinal, Ontario.  In June, someone placed flowers near where the accident happened.
Pictured is the upper portion of the steeple engine of the Conestoga. Moored close by is a local dive charter boat.  There is a dive group underwater looking at the wreck
The Conestoga was an iron-clad 252 ft long wooden steam freighter, 252 ft launched July 6th, 1878.
On May 22, 1922, while awaiting passage through the Canal  she caught on fire and drifted downstream,  burned  and sank. 
The Conestoga is now a popular wreck dive because she rests at a depth of  just 22-25 ft and is about 75 ft from shore.
