Kockengen - Seesaw mill - a photo on Flickriver

            The Kockengense Molen is a seesaw mill just south of the village of Kockengen, in the Dutch province of Utrecht.

The mill was built in 1675 and until 1960 drained the polder Kockengen on wind power. After 1962, the mill became a reserve pumping station for a larger area where a few polders were combined. The cross of wicks still consists of so-called Potroeds. These have a length of almost 24 meters and are equipped with the old Dutch fencing with sails. The mill releases the water by means of a paddle wheel.
