Meet Charlotte!

            J'ai eu la chance inouïe d'assister à une nichée de Petits ducs maculé dans un contexte urbain, ce qui est plutôt exceptionnel. De plus cette forme rousse claire de la belle maman prénommée Charlotte s'observe rarement au Québec. Je vous la présente donc cette fière et magnifique maman qui est sortie lors d'une rare éclaircie cette journée là, aux dernières lueurs du soleil. Elle s'apprêtait à commencer sa nuit de chasse avec son conjoint Édouard V que je vous présenterai sous peu. Longue vie à Charlotte, Édouard et à leurs cinq rejetons!

I had the exceptional chance to observe an Eastern Screech Owl nesting in an urban context. The red light color of the beautiful mother named Charlotte is also rare in Quebec. Here is Charlotte who came out of her cavity posing during a rare sunny break that day. She was about to begin her hunting for the night with her lover Edouard V who I will present to you shortly. Happy long life to Charlotte, Édouard, and their 5 owlets!
