OK, this is either my Andy Warhol "Soup Cans" moment, or the moment when you all conclude that I've irretrievably lost the plot. Or possibly somewhere in between.

Today was a day that went too quickly and never quite came into focus. By the evening I hadn't taken any photographs at all and I was seriously thinking of just skipping it although I knew if I did I'd hate myself in the morning. I still have several still lifes in mind, but sighed "How many would that be this week, four, five? And anyway, none of them have really interesting light. I need something that's light."

I was in the bedroom at the time, and noticed the clock radio. Shook my head, walked away, walked back, looked at it again, shook my head, walked away, walked back, narrowed my eyes and stared at it for a moment. "Maaaaaybe."

Did a few experimental shots, focussed manually, turned off all of the lights in the room, set the timer to capture several frames over the next few minutes, merged them into a single image, played around with a bit of sharpening (pushing it way over the top) and saturation and... well, the result is an image, at least...

Edit January 2024: I do recall that the woman I was dating at the time asked me "Are you all right??" when I posted this. Yes, I was, other than having a really bad dating history at the time. (Although she was essentially a good person, just way too messed up by past events, resulting in a Jackie Chan movie replay that we'll hear about in a later PAD.)

I was, however, as I still am, disturbed by how quickly time passes.

This is an example. The alarm clock in question was a Sony ICF-C270 alarm clock with AM/FM radio. It wasn't new at the time. I'm not sure how long I'd had it at then, but it was a daily part of my household furniture.

If you look up that model now, however, the search results are, wait for it... "Vintage Sony Dream Machine ICF-C270". Other search results contain the word "retro", while others are from museums.

So, the title? It still applies.
