star of the show (experimental) - a photo on Flickriver

            This V-173 has to be one of the most unique experimental aircrafts I've ever heard of! It's flat, rounded shape gives it the appearance of a pancake. It was almost terrifying as I actually witnessed the thing lumbering lowly and slowly, almost if from outerspace, over the Oklahoma neighborhood of Purcell. As a kid l'd seen many aircrafts due to the close proximity of nearby airports in Dallas/Fort Worth, TX. However, l never understood or could explain what I'd seen that day in the small town of Purcell. It almost seemed like a hallucination when I tried to discribe it to others.
