B727 Around The Wye - a photo on Flickriver

            I had some time to kill on Friday after shooting the deadheading Mass Coastal Christmas Train before the first revenue run would head out at 2 PM.  So I did a little ghost foaming, and then looked around for whatever else I could find moving in southeastern Mass.  

Nothing to exciting was happening, but I did here CSXT on the radio making some move so swung by to see what they were up to.  Here is Middleboro based daytime local B7272 with GP40-2 6278 (blt. for the Chessie System in Mar. 1979 as BO 4349) backing around the south leg of the wye on Mass Coastal's state owned Middleboro Main (that runs east from here to Attleboro), having just cleared Keolis/MBTA's Middleboro Main (that runs north to Boston) at Pilgrim interlocking.  They are crossing over the little grade crossing leading to the MBTA layover yard as they head down to mu with another unit and make a back to back pair of geeps before heading west to Taunton and Attleboro. This far eastern outpost of the vast CSXT system is all former New Haven Railroad territory and is sometimes colloquially known as the Cranberry Division for the best know crop still grown commercially in this part of the world.

Oh, and one totally useless and fun fact.  at about 70°55'W longitude this point is the absolute most easterly to be found anywhere on the current CSXT system map!
