Ronda - a photo on Flickriver

Ronda

            The first settlement on the site of Ronda  was Celtic Arunda, later absorbed by the Romans and captured in the 8th century by the Moors. Attempts reconquest of the city fall to the fifteenth century, was captured in 1485 years by Ferdinand III.
Located on both sides of the deep river gorge Guadalevin. The town consists of two districts: Ciudad, Which is part of the Arab (right) and Mercadillo, Which is the newer part of the post-reconquest (left).

Pierwszą osadą na miejscu Rondy była celtycka Arunda, wchłonięta później przez rzymian i opanowana w VIII wieku przez Maurów. Próby rekonkwisty miasta przypadają na wiek XV,  zdobyte zostało w 1485 roku przez Ferdynanda III.
Położone po obu stronach głębokiego wąwozu rzeki Guadalevín miasto składa się z dwóch dzielnic: Ciudad, czyli części arabskiej (po prawej) i Mercadillo, czyli nowszej części powstałej po rekonkwiście (po lewej).
