Dans les vignes du Bugey ... - a photo on Flickriver

            Le climat semi-continental du Bugey est propice à la culture de la vigne. Son exploitation remonte à l’antiquité.
Elle était florissante à l’invasion romaine à un point tel que l’envahisseur en craignait la concurrence. Ce sont ensuite les moines, nombreux dans la région, qui au Moyen-Age, développèrent le vignoble.
Les vins du Bugey sont moins connus que ceux du Jura septentrional. Pourtant, ils ont obtenu l’appellation d’origine depuis 1958. Et si le crû de Cerdon est le plus renommé pour son pétillant rosé, la majeure partie du vignoble bugiste s’étend le long de la vallée du Rhône, et dans le Bas-Bugey où l’on produit des rouges légers et des blancs frais et fruités.
Le Bugey prend sa véritable dimension hors des sentiers battus : vignoble secret, il se révèle à celui qui sait prendre le temps de la découverte.
