            Herleghem Castle

The oldest mention of a castle at this location dates from 1419. 
In 1662, Herleghem Castle was bought by the Van Pottelberghe family.

The present castle, in Louis XVI style, was built in 1771.  In 1981, the castle almost burnt down completely, but was fully restored.

The castle is still owned by the Van Pottelberghe family.

De oudste vermelding van een kasteel op deze plaats dateert van 1419. 
In 1662 werd het kasteel van Herleghem aangekocht door de familie Van Pottelberghe.

Het huidige kasteel, in Lodewijk XVI-stijl, werd gebouwd in 1771.  In 1981 brandde het kasteel bijna volledig uit, maar werd volledig terug gerestaureerd.

Het kasteel is nog altijd in bezit van de familie Van Pottelberghe.
