43002 Ivybridge 11th May 2019

            43002 'Sir Kenneth Grange' leading 43153‎ with set LA22 forming the 5Z77 1230 Exeter New Yard to Laira T.& R.S.M.D. This photo was taken in the Fardell area of Ivybridge west of the town viaduct. Following a recent  bridge replacement and track renewal there had been  significant tree removal in the area opening a vista that had previously been impossible.  43002 was already earmarked for the Paddington HST Farewell tour in June before heading to the National Rail Museum at York so all efforts went into capturing it. I seem to recall it had been on Laira for a while presumably being wrapped in cotton wool for its finale. Around April/May 2019 I was taking a lot of HST photos pending their removal from London services and imminent withdrawals.With the sheer amount of photos I took there were a number that didn't get uploaded to Flickr  and which I'd subsequently not revisited. This one was underexposed due to the bright sky and shadowed foreground but an adjustment in Lightroom has produced this.
