Železniční společnost FCAB přepraví až 6 miliónu nákladů během roku (statistika r.2021), z čehož 1/2 dělá kyselina sírová, která míří do dolů, nejčastěji se jedné o důl Chuquicamata, který se nachází severně od Calamy. Cisterny jsou plněné ve speciálním terminálu v přístavu Mejillones.
