Commentary.

Applecross sits beyond the Bealach na Ba Pass (Pass of the cattle, 2,200 feet).
The Applecross Hills to the south and the Torridon Mountains to the north act like a wall, a barrier to this remote, rocky and almost square peninsula.
Entering it is akin to discovering the Land of Narnia, in the back of the wardrobe, in C.S Lewis’, “The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe.”
It feels like another world, separate from our world,
almost a parallel universe.
It is awesomely bare, stark, and rugged.
Here at Sand Bay, the gleam off the deep Inner Sound (1,062 feet) brightens up a cloudy view but accentuates that feeling of “another place,” “a different place.”
The mountain vistas of Loch Torridon, from the north shore,
are magnificent.
This is the last of the large, steep and high fjords,
but what a fitting finale!!!
