Autumn glory at the entrance to Glen Cannich with odd patches of mist still lingering in late morning. Bracken, Silver Birch, Larch and Spruce make a palette to please the eye, Inverness-shire, Scotland.

Poem.

Before this glen reaches its grandest and most majestic self,
a gentler scene, here, hints at the beauty and grandeur to come.
Pine-clad hills above the River Cannich contrast perfectly with the gold-tinted silver-birch that make a gilded backcloth to the bronzed Autumnal fern.
Cannich’s very own yellow brick road, but dressed by nature’s softer garland.
Might this be the rainbow’s ultimate pot of gold?
