Sky over Skye. The sunlight breaks through volatile clouds and gleams off the Inner and Outer Sounds from the Skye Bridge, Kyle of Lochalsh, Wester Ross, Scotland.

            Commentary.

Nearing 19:00, in high summer.
Sun still high in the Skye gleams off the Inner Sound.
Rounded “Red Cuillin,” Beinn na Caillich, 732 metres (2,402 feet) rises majestically above Broadford Bay.
Sgurr nan Gillean is the pointed peak to the right of the rounded Beinn na Caillich.
Further right, the “Black Cuillin,” form a serrated knife-edge of volcanic ridges culminating in Sgùrr Alasdair, 993 metres (3,258 feet,) right of centre, on the far horizon, twenty-one miles distant.
The flat island is Pabay and rising beyond it, to the far right, is the much hillier, Island of Scalpay.
