South-East across Loch Hourn in the Early Spring of March, 1991, a breathlessly still sea-loch, surrounded by snowy slopes above 600 metres.

            Commentary.

Stately in its grandeur,
noble slopes rising over a thousand metres
are snow-capped, even in mid-March.
This incredibly indented coastline 
boasts sea-loch after sea-loch, fjord after fjord.
Vistas are inevitably enhanced by the
vibrant colours that Scotland affords.
Here, iconic silver birch, pine, and gorse provide a rich foreground. 

Such deep inlets can weave their way
twenty, thirty, forty and fifty miles inland.
Roads and settlements are infrequent.
Much of the land between these sea-invaded
glacial valleys is remote, grand and unspoiled.
Knoydart, in shot, is only accessible by foot or boat.
Thus, its mystery, sanctity, raw appeal  and utter serenity is preciously guarded.
