When beginning my series of five days of self-portraits, I was influenced by an image I saw on Instagram in which a woman wearing all yellow was laying face down on a yellow slide. I liked the aesthetics to the image which emphasized color and shape in a humorous way. For my series, I wanted to focus on color and texture. What surprised me was how much fun I had costuming myself to match weird environments - like the red velvet couch I see every day or my green lawn. My hope was that my images would have more absurdity or a greater "oddness" to them, like the woman laying on the slide. Potentially some of these images achieved that, but if I continued doing this series for another 5-10 days, I'd be interested to see how that could better be achieved. Overall, this was a fun project and I think the incorporated elements of color, texture and line contributed to successful compositions and aesthetics in my final photographs.
