Sierra de Guadarrama National Park after the last days snowfalls, Madrid, Spain

Today we have enjoyed a beautiful Spring morning in Madrid, with cool temperatures during the early hours and with a crisp visibility of Sierra de Madrid after the recent snowfalls.

It is really unusual to contemplate the Sierra with so much snow at the end of April. The heavy snow fell over 3900 feet (1200 m).

All the mountains you can see in this picture, called "Cuerda Larga" are above 7200 feet of altitude (2200 m).

The distance from where the photo was taken (in the surroundings of Valdebebas, Madrid) and the mountains is approximately 25,5 miles (41 km) in a straight line.

Parque Nacional de la Sierra de Guadarrama después de las nevadas de los últimos días, Madrid, España

Hoy hemos disfrutado de una preciosa mañana primaveral en Madrid, con temperaturas frescas durante la madrugada y con una visibilidad nítida de la Sierra de Madrid tras las recientes nevadas.

Es realmente inusual contemplar la Sierra con tanta nieve a finales de abril. La fuerte nevada cayó a partir de los 1200 m.

Todas las montañas que puedes ver en esta foto, llamadas "La Cuerda Larga" tienen una altura superior a los 2200 m.

La distancia desde donde tomé la foto (en los alrededores de Valdebebas, Madrid) y las montañas es de aproximadamente 41 km en línea recta.
