" Heartland " - a photo on Flickriver

" Heartland "

The beautiful heart shaped Lough Oular lies [600m elevation] on the northern slopes of Tonelagee Mountain [818m] high up in the .Wicklow mountains. Its a difficult climb and away in the wilds but it has an unique beauty and it is much loved by hill walkers.It draws me somehow too. Its the bluest lake Ive ever seen and this is its natural colour. Im sure its to do with the skys reflection on the water which is tinted brown from the surrounding peat. I climbed this mountain on New Years morning a few years ago to get the dawn sunrise and I have the photo on here.Im obviously a suitable case for treatment!!! Is it any wonder that Freud is reputed to have said that the Irish were the only race that he couldnt really analyse! To be totally honest, we couldnt figure him out much either!!! You got to laugh!!!
