" The Tantrums of Tonelagee " -First Light 2017.

" All is Quiet here on New Years Day"- U 2.
I took this photo this morning at 7am from the shoulder of Tonelagee Mountain { 817m } High over the Wicklow gap. I left the house at 5.30 to get there on time. The view is towards the east as the light just breaks. Within 5 minutes it closed in again and you can see it approaching from the s/w in the pic. I had to return to my car and thaw out!. There no pleasure in bad weather and especially in the dark Its full of bog holes up there and I found two, one for each leg. Lucky me!!! I like balance in my life!!!
The view from left to right is Kanturk,Scarr, Brockagh, Mullacor, Derrybawn and Cullentragh.
The best surprise of all is that the small hazy mountain slightly to the left of centre is the peak of Mount Snowden in North Wales, UK, which is over 80miles away!
I did promise my friends here that I would go up there this morning but unfortunately, the weather closed in too soon. I will go back on the first fine morning though!
Just to wish you all, love, peace, health and happiness in all things, throught the coming year and stay true.
I do like this photo in spite of itself!!! I suppose its all part of the madness! Its an affliction that only affects the best people you know!!!!!

Im absolutely stunned by the reaction to this photo. I wasnt sure if it was good enough really. I really am very touched by all the wonderful comments. I will get back up there asap on first fine dawn I get. Dont worry about me as Im very careful and I had a great teacher who was ex British Army and they know a thing or two. Did a lot of climbing, absailing and white water rapid stuff with him in North Wales over a 15 year period, so Ive learned a bit.
If the weather changes I always get down as fast as I can.
Now you have all encouraged me to try and improve so how special are all of you!!!
Do hope your year ahead is everything you would want it to be. Mine cant get any better than it is now as Im so very lucky.
