" The South Stack Lighthouse, Holy Island, Anglsey, Wales.

I took this from the Irish Ferries car ferry, The Jonathan Swift, while sailing into Holyhead from Dublin. This would have been one of the first sights that greeted many of the poor Irish immigrants leaving home to try and make a better life for themselves in England { and America sailing onwards from Southhampton } during the 19th and early 20th centuries.

The Lighthouse was built in 1809 and is 91 ft. tall. See attached link.
