189 (4) (WS) Froglet - a photo on Flickriver

            In July, my son and I noticed numerous brand new, metamorphosised Pacific Tree froglets traversing a field from the shrinking forest puddles to the larger pond.  These little ones were barely 1 cm long!

We developed a slow, shuffling walk, to give these little ones time to respond to our approach and get closer to their destination without being stepped on.

Here is one he rescued. It sits on the back of his hand, (his first knuckle to the right), quite comfortably, his cold, wet from dew, little toes warming on his skin.  The froglet was placed close to the pond before we left.
