Royal Stag Glencoe - a photo on Flickriver

Royal Stag Glencoe

            This image of a beautiful Royal Stag, called that due to it's 10 point Antlers (5 points on each side) was taken as a consequence of having to revert to plan B for the days outing.
We had originally planned to have a drive down the Glen Etive road in Glencoe, unfortunately we found the road closed near the junction of the A82, so plan B was to drive down to Killin for a wander around and to photograph Dochart Falls, enroute to Killin I spotted a couple of Stags close to the road near Rannoch Moor.
Thankfully there was a parking bay close by that I quickly pulled in to, grabbing the camera I took the very short walk to where the Stags were feeding, taking my time so as not to spook them I tried to find a decent composition, this image being one of the best of the bunch I took.
I set the camera to auto iso, not something I do normally but there was quite a high dynamic range, at f8 this gave me a decent shutter speed so as to freeze any moment, I didn't have time to put my big Sigma, 150 to 600mm on the camera so had to make do with the 24 to 200mm f4 that was fitted to the camera at the time.
