"Tazzole" (Narcissus Tazetta) - a photo on Flickriver

            Questa pianta di giunchiglie fiorite (che mia madre chiama "tazzole") proviene da un campo di grano nei pressi di Serra Sant'Abbondio, nelle Marche, dove fioriscono all'inizio della  primavera. Molti anni fa (una cinquantina?), mia madre ne raccolse qualche bulbo, che trapiantò nel suo giardino a Roma. Da allora quei bulbi, che evidentemente in quel giardino si sono trovati benissimo, si sono moltiplicati e ad ogni mese di marzo ci regalano i loro fiori gentili e profumati.

This flowering daffodil plant (which my mother calls "tazzole") comes from a wheat field near Serra Sant'Abbondio, in the Marche region, where they bloom in early spring. Many years ago (about fifty?), My mother collected some bulbs, which she transplanted in her garden in Rome. Since then those bulbs, which evidently had a great time in that garden, have multiplied and every March they give us their gentle and fragrant flowers.
