Foreland Lighthouse - a photo on Flickriver

            The owner: "The first lighthouse to use an electric light A landmark of the White Cliffs, the Victorian lighthouse was built to warn mariners of shifting sands and guide them through the Strait of Dover. A place of innovation and science, the lighthouse was the first to display an electric light anywhere in the world."

Following a public footpath we reached this beautiful lighthouse around sunset. The channel in the back we had a good view an this historic and marvelous building not knowing about the historic background.

From that position you have also an impressive view on the french coast.
