Libélula diminuta con la cabeza desproporcionadamente grande. Los machos adultos son en gran parte negruzcos, con las venas alares casi translúcidas. Es la única especie del género, se encuentra en zonas áridas de Asia y del N de Africa y en localidades dispersas de la cuenca mediterránea.

Tiny dragonfly with disproportionately large head. The adult males are largely blackish, with the wing veins almost translucent. It is the only species of the genus, found in arid areas of Asia and the N of Africa and in scattered localities of the Mediterranean basin.
